While the first 2 years of the program include a series of articulated, closely supervised courses in research and practice, the following 2 years allow the student to follow a more self-determined path, choosing classes, research projects, and practice that fulfill their individual goals as well as requirements. The last year is spent completing an applied predoctoral internship.

Tuition costs range from close to 12,000 to 25,000 for the first year not including university fees or additional fees and student costs. Financial aid and fellowship programs are available for graduate students, and application dates will vary.

Beyond the master’s degree, the student must complete 64 hours, including major coursework, dissertation research credit, and independent study, as well as fulfill the PhD Research Specialization Requirements—a plan of study should be submitted and approved by the adviser and Research Specialization Committee.
